Criteria for speech assessment

The following are the 5 criteria for the interpretation activity.

  1. Grammatical Resource: Use correct grammar with a good mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. Be careful to not to make any grammatical mistakes.
  2. Lexical Resource: Use a variety of suitable words and expressions to explain ideas clearly and effectively, even on unfamiliar topics.
  3. Discourse Management: Speak fluently with minimal hesitation. Present ideas that are relevant, original, and well-organized, using linking words to connect ideas smoothly.
  4. Pronunciation: Speak clearly so the audience can easily understand. Use appropriate intonation, stress, and pronunciation of words and sounds.
  5. Task Achievement: Fully address the assigned section of the interpretation framework. Present meaningful and well-supported ideas while engaging the audience through confident delivery, appropriate eye contact, natural gestures, and effective body language.
