The famous quote “A man is known by the books he reads and the company he keeps…” is relevant in today’s world more than ever. While we cannot ignore the non-inclusive language used by the author, Ralph Waldo Emerson, in the quote, let’s embrace the essence of it and take it as a quote for hu(man) beings that also include women.
In the world of technology and information overload, and the never-ending reels and shorts that appear on our phone screens, it calls for an introspection from our end to check if we are keeping friends with those people that we want to keep friends with. In the age of social media, a person’s friends are not just their classmates, colleagues or mutual friends of a friend or family member, but they are the so called “influencers” that a person follow on social media.
Hence, I highly recommend all women out there to re-check the accounts that you follow on various social media platforms and consider unsubscribing if you feel they are not worthy of your time and attention.
